foto m2Miguel Viseu Aurélio Coelho (Lobito, 1965) studied architecture at the Universities of Architecture of Porto and Lisbon, graduating in 1990. From 1990 to 1996 collaborates with various project offices, among which are the Profabril, the Lusotecna and the City Hall of Lisbon.

From 1996 to 1998 was invited professor at the Superior Institute of Transports in Engineering in Transportation and Urban Planning graduation.

At the same time (1996) opened his own Studio, Miguel Viseu Coelho Arquitectos Associados Lda, assuming exclusively, since that date, its management and overall coordination.

Has developed projects of diverse scope, among which are cultural projects, projects of touristic nature or related to health, buildings and transports infrastructure and special projects of urban rehabilitation.

Has several awards in architecture competitions, among which two stand-out, the 1st Prize awarded by the Association of Architects in 1990 (year of graduation) in a competition for young architects called "The Architecture and the place" and the 2nd place in the Nacional Architecture Award "Prémios Espaço" in the Public Space Category with the project "Porta da Estrela" in Seia (2024).

Of his most significant works, we highlight the Railway Station of Espinho, the Soap Museum, the renovation of the Airports in Lisbon, Funchal, Ponta Delgada and Horta, the Museological Core of Blankets and Tapestries from Belver, the renovation of the Saudação Convent, and on the subject of urban interventions, the requalification of the Histroric Center of Montemor-o-Novo and the intervention "Porta da Estrela" in Seia.

In addition to his activities as an architect, is the author of several paintings and sculptures, which are often integrated into his projects.

His life motto is "talent de bien-faire".
